Alison Barnes

Alison has spent over 20 years of her professional life in roles linking the natural environment with people, currently as the Chief Officer at New Forest National Park Authority. In her previous role as Director for Natural England’s Team in London she championed London’s green spaces, their enhancement and the benefits they bring to the social and economic fabric of the Capital, including the Olympic Park. As a London Sustainable Development Commissioner between 2008 and 2014 she advised on natural environment and initiated ‘Sowing the Seeds’ – focussed on reconnecting London’s young people their green spaces. Alison is an elected Fellow of the Landscape Institute and the RSA and is a Trustee of the National Park City Foundation.
