Aliyu Barau
Kano
Aliyu Barau is a geographer and landscape scientist. His research interests are multidisciplinary: sustainability in the built environment, landscape ecology, cultural landscapes, geo-information, climate change impacts, sustainable tourism, biomimicry, the Anthropocene, creative writing and environmental sustainability, religion and sustainability, indigenous societies’ science and sustainability, and sustainability and decision science. Aliyu attended Bayero University Kano for his BSc Geography and MSc Land Resources Development. Between 2001 and 2010, he taught geography and environmental studies at Federal College of Education Kano. He completed his PhD at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Aliyu currently teaches at Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Bayero University Kano, Nigeria.
