My work relates to the social and ecological aspects of urban nature and how people and urban nature influence each other. I help cities become more resilient through the management of urban nature. I do research on the social and ecological effects of urban nature loss, urban forest ecology and management, ecological restoration in cities, climate change adaptation and urban forests, community views of urban forests and green infrastructure, urban development and urban trees, urban forest governance, and engineered technologies to grow better urban trees. Originally from Cali, Colombia, I work in Canada, Australia, and Latin America.
