Chris Uttley

Stroud

Chris Uttley has been working for the protection and conservation of marine and freshwater habitats since his youth, working as both a practical ecologist and advising on conservation policy for aquatic ecosystems. For the last 9 years, Chris has worked at the cutting edge of nature-based solutions for climate adaptation and reducing flood risk, leading the Stroud valleys natural flood management project on the ground, commissioning, designing, and creating over 800 NbS interventions with landowners, farmers and communities to reduce flood risk, restore habitats and improve water quality in the catchment of the Stroud River Frome. During this period, Chris also worked with the English Environment Agency in a small team leading work to integrate NbS into their mainstream flood risk management portfolio.
