Claudia Luna Fuentes

Saltillo

Claudia was born in Monclova, Coahuila. Mexico. She has published “Carne para las flores” (Aullido libros, España 2011 and 2018) and “Las flores desenfundan sis espinas” (Secretaría de Cultura de Coahuila CONACULTA, 2013), among others. Her work appears in Anuario de poesía mexicana (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2006). Claudia also published a children’s book, “Los frutos del sol” (Castillo MacMillan, 2005), and poems including “Casa de sol” (FECA- CONACULTA, 1995), and “Ruido de hormigas” (Gatsby Ediciones, 2005). She received mention at the II Fernando Benítez International Journalism Competition of the UAdeG, first place in photography Coahuila Luz y Forma 2003, and the poetry prize Manuel Acuña 2008. In poetry, she received a scholarship from FONCA, state incentives as a young creator and as a creator with trajectory of the FECA and the PECDA on several occasions. She was a FORCA-Northeast Scholar 2011-2012, in Lima, Peru, giving workshops on objectual poetry. As a guest of honor at the 2013 Tangier International Theater Festival in Morocco, some of her poetry was translated into Arabic. Her poems have been translated into German by Christoph Janacs, and into English and Portuguese. She has appeared in poetry anthologies in the United States and Spain. She has a degree in Communication from the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (UA de C), Director of Scientific Dissemination from the Museo del Desert, and Master in History of Contemporary Society from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She holds a PhD in Sciences and Humanities for Interdisciplinary Development from the UA de C. Claudia is part of the citizen movement of art and nature Yo Soy Zapalinamé and is a columnist for Vanguardia.
