Danielle Dagenais is an associate professor at the School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture of the Université de Montreal, Canada. She has degrees in Agronomy (B.Sc.(Agr.) Plant Science, McGill University, Montreal), Environmental Engineering (M.Sc.A., École Polytechnique de Montreal) and Environmental Design (Ph.D., Université de Montreal). Her background enables her to lead multidisciplinary research teams that include co-researchers in social and natural sciences as well as in engineering. Her research and publications deal with the environmental, technical and social aspects of the large-scale implementation of phytotechnological green infrastructure such as green roofs and BMPs for stormwater management. She conducts studies on the perception, social representation and uses of biodiversity and of various types of urban nature (e.g. green roofs, wastelands). She is involved in research on the planning of natural green infrastructure and on the design of landscapes for biodiversity and resilience. She works with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
