Eleanor Diamant is a Ph.D. candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA. She is a member of Dr. Pamela Yeh’s lab, researching urban ecology and evolution of birds in Southern California. She received her M.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Columbia University, working on sexual selection in hummingbirds, and her B.Sc. from Davidson College working on nesting behavior and evolution. Her research focuses on mechanisms of evolutionary and behavioral responses to anthropogenic change, and how we can better predict avian response to cities. She is also interested in interdisciplinary views of nature and urbanization, environmental equity and justice, and integrating urban wildlife and human needs in a more holistic ecosystem framing.
