
Federica Risi

Federica is an interdisciplinary practitioner and facilitator of change who believes in the power of co-creation and sees urban development as a key entry point to unpack and heal society’s relationship with nature. Federica has 8+ years of experience working at the interface between policy, research, and practice, focusing her work around urban sustainability transitions and nature-based solutions. Federica is a Senior Policy and Project Officer at the EUKN Secretariat in The Hague, NL, where she is the go-to for green city topics. At the EUKN, she leads the organisation’s work on EU-funded projects on the co-creation of nature-based solutions in European and Latin American cities (CONEXUS), on the connection between human and ecosystem health (GoGreenNext), and inclusive governance of urban green spaces (NATURO). She also leads tasks in the Greening Cities Partnership of the Urban Agenda for the EU and contributes to high-level policy exchanges among national ministries responsible for urban matters in the EU. She has previously contributed to participatory action research and cooperation initiatives in countries such as the United Kingdom, Portugal, Peru, Brazil, and South Africa both within academia and the non-governmental sector.
