Francis Vorhies is the founder and executive director of Earthmind, which has its office at the IUCN Conservation Centre in Switzerland. His work focused on the interface between biodiversity, business, and the economy. This includes substantive engagement with international actors from the private, public, and non-profit sectors in projects worldwide One of his main initiatives is the development of a new approach for recognising and supporting conservation efforts beyond protected areas, known as Verified Conservation Areas (VCAs). His previous work experience includes building biodiversity economics capacity in east and southern Africa and setting up IUCN’s global programmes on economics and business.
