Hayato Hasegawa is a Ph.D. student at Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. He has studied the process of collaborative management for conserving socio-ecological landscape as implementation of city planning. He evaluates the changes in ecosystem services and the ecological condition of the abandoned secondary forest and tideland in Fukutsu-city and Fukuoka-city, Japan. His interest is how we can sustain local people’s interaction with nature in the present time. He implements the collaborations with local government, residents, and children for re-connecting to nature. He teaches landscape ecology and urban planning as a research assistant at the university.
