Ian MacGregor-Fors
Xalapa
Ian MacGregor-Fors is a researcher at the Institute of Ecology (INECOL, Xalapa, Mexico). Although his interests are focused on four main topics (i.e., ornithology; ecology of wildlife species in human-disturbed systems; distribution, ecology, and behavior of invasive and potentially invasive species; biodiversity statistics), much of his research has been centered on the responses of wildlife species to urbanization in Latin Ameica, an understudied region. He is currently part of the Urbio Advisory Board, associate editor of the Journal of Urban Ecology, Urban Naturalist, Neotropical Naturalist, Ornitología Neotropical, and Huitzil – The Mexican Journal of Ornithology. He has authored or coauthored more than 90 peer-review publications, and recently coedited a book that sets the state-of-the-art of urban bird ecology in Latin America (https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783319634739).
