Julie Procter is Chief Executive of greenspace scotland. With over 25 years’ experience working in the environmental sector, she is passionate about the importance of greenspace close to where people live and the many benefits it delivers for people, places and communities. Julie has a strong track record in developing and leading cross-sectoral partnership projects which inform and influence policy and practice, including recent work to develop OS Greenspace which maps all of Britain’s greenspaces, work with NHS Lothian to develop Scotland’s first health board led Green Health strategy, and ParkPower which aims to realise opportunities for clean, green renewable energy services from our parks and greenspaces. greenspace scotland is Scotland’s parks and greenspace charity working towards the goal that everyone living and working in urban Scotland should have easy access to quality greenspace which meets local needs and improves their quality of life. Julie is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute, a Resilience Mentor for the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a Director of The Parks Alliance.
