Kathi Artmann, studied geographer and graphic designer, works as a copywriter, fire artist and hoop dance trainer. In the course of her journalistic thesis “System First” she dealt intensively with the factor of alienation in the working world and how this leads to mental exhaustion diseases like depression and burn-out, but also to collective unethical actions of economic actors. She believes that such mental states are not purely individual problems, but are the result of constant acceleration of social processes and the capitalistic high-performance paradigm. Her main goal is to combine the ratio of science with the empathy of spirituality. This duality of ratio and spirit is also reflected in her artistic work as a hoop dancer and designer. In collaboration with her sister Martina, she creates workshops as well as lectures to reconnect people to themselves and their nonhuman as well as human environment.
