Maryam is a landscape architect in Tehran. Her projects deal with various scales and functions, including roof gardens, green walls, and private landscapes. Plants and planting design are her most favorite subjects. Her main concept in projects is bringing back to nature and maximizing natural elements, especially plants in urban life spaces. Her research interests revolve around sustainable, low-input, and naturalistic planting design; the relationship between culture, society, aesthetic taste, and climatic context with planting design; ecologic landscaping and horticulture; wilderness landscapes; and extreme combinations of natural landscape patterns with human constructed environments.
