Mateo is a naturalist and environmental consultant. For more than 30 years he has been fascinated by every plant and animal, small or big, that walks, crawls, flies, swims or stands in this world. His main interests are sharing his knowledge on the natural history of the organisms that live in Colombia, his home country, as well as ecological restoration, both in the wild and in urban ecosystems. He has advised hundreds of landowners in conservation issues, contributing to the private conservation of thousands of hectares throughout Colombia.
