Nate Gabriel is an Assistant Lecturer at Rutgers University and an Adjunct Instructor at Rowan University. He is also an active member of the Community Economies Collective, an international community of scholars focused on questions of class, diverse economic practices, and social justice. His work combines interests in urban geography and political ecology, and focuses on the everyday practices that constitute urban environmental knowledge, including the practices of governance institutions in framing the resource environment. He is interested in exploring the urban not simply as a site in which to examine the politics of the environment, but as a discursive frame through which nature and society come to be understood and produced.
