Nikara is a Professional Officer: Biodiversity, Nature, and Health at ICLEI Africa. Nikara comes from an environmental sciences background, having worked in the biodiversity and conservation sectors in South Africa for over 7 years. Working mostly for non-governmental organisations, her work experience has included working with private landowners, local communities, local and international public and private donors/funders, across planning, implementation, and management of various biodiversity and conservation-related projects. Nikara works interests include ecological management, restoration and also recently include biodiversity finance. She is always seeking opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills through the implementation of innovative solutions to address the ever-increasing environmental challenges that we are confronted with at a global, regional and local scale. Nikara holds an MSc Environmental Sciences (University of KwaZulu-Natal) and an MPhil in Conservation Leadership (University of Cambridge).
