Novem Auyeung is a Senior Scientist, Division of Forestry Horticulture & Natural Resources, NYC Parks. Novem guides conservation, research, and monitoring priorities for the Division. She leads a team of ecologists who are tasked with monitoring and assessing NYC Parks’s natural resources, advising on natural resources protection and conservation, and using research and monitoring to inform adaptive management. She is also a part of the New York City Urban Field Station and has worked with the U.S. Forest Service on a variety of ecological and social science research projects. She is a soil biogeochemist by training and has conducted research on climate change effects on soil nutrients and microbial communities. Novem holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Forestry and Natural Resources from Purdue University.
