Renae Reynolds is a Project Coordinator at the US Forest Service, Urban Field Station. Her work focuses on a research initiative entitled the Landscapes of Resilience, which explores the practices of community greening and environmental stewardship in the post-disturbance context of Hurricane Sandy on the Rockaway Peninsula in New York City. Working within the Urban Field Station among a dynamic group of social and ecological researchers Renae uses her skills as an interdisciplinary urban practitioner to engaging local community members through research and design initiatives to support their journey toward empowerment, enhancing their ability to affect positive social and physical change in their communities. Renae holds a Master of Arts degree in the Theories of Urban Practice, from Parsons New School for Design. She received her Bachelor’s in Sociology at Queens, College.
