Susanne Formanek is managing director of the innovation laboratory GRÜNSTATTGRAU, initiator of many projects in the green building sector and since 2017 president of IBO, the Austrian Institute for Building Biology and Ecology. This is an independent, non-profit, scientific association that researches the interactions between humans, buildings and the environment. GRÜNSTATTGRAU pushes building greening as building optimization and is THE competence center for building greening, which is 100% owned by the Association for Building Greening and funded by the BMK. Susanne Formanek graduated from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna in the field of forestry and timber management. Susanne Formanek ist Geschäftsführerin des Innovationslabors GRÜNSTATTGRAU, Initiatorin von vielen Projekten im Green Building Bereich und ist seit 2017 Präsidentin vom IBO, das Österreichisches Institut für Baubiologie und –ökologie. Dies ist ein unabhängiger, gemeinnütziger, wissenschaftlicher Verein, der die Wechselwirkungen zwischen Mensch, Bauwerk und Umwelt erforscht. GRÜNSTATTGRAU forciert Bauwerksbegrünung als Gebäudeoptimierung und ist DAS Kompetenzzentrum für Gebäudebegrünung, das zu 100% im Eigentum des Verbands für Bauwerksbegrünungsteht und vom BMK gefördert wird. Susanne Formanek absolvierte die Universität für Bodenkultur in Wien im Bereich Forst- und Holzwirtschaft.
