Tatsatom Goncalves

Tatsatom Gonçalves is a Sustainable Buildings Helms Fellow with the Buildings Initiative at WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. He combines international outreach, research, writing and data analysis to expand the partnership’s support of energy efficiency across 50+ cities worldwide. Prior to joining WRI, Tatsatom worked as a GLOBE Fellow at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in New York City, where he produced a quantitative coastal resilience assessment and furthered the organization’s partnership with the local and community-based Citizens’ Water Quality Testing Program (CWQTP). He also studied at the Middlebury School Abroad in Kunming, where he conducted research strictly in Mandarin on China’s market and policies for wind and solar energy development. Tatsatom is originally from the outskirts of Porto Alegre, Brazil and holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Geography from Middlebury College. He is passionate about learning languages and speaks fluent English and Portuguese; advanced Chinese and Spanish; and intermediate French and Italian. He loves exploring new cities and can often be found riding his bike with a ukulele on his back.
