Tischa A Muñoz-Erickson is a Research Social Scientist with the USDA Forest Service’s International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF) in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. She holds a PhD in Sustainability from Arizona State University and an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Northern Arizona University. Her research focuses on governance (adaptive and sustainable); science-policy interactions and knowledge networks for sustainability; collaborative natural resource management; and the resilience and adaptive capacity of urban socio-ecological systems. In addition to scientific research, Tischa is actively involved in developing social arrangements, programs, and tools that can facilitate transdisciplinary collaborations among diverse research and policy stakeholders. Tischa manages the IITF’s Urban Field Station and the Urban Long Term Research Area (ULTRA) program, is a member of the NSF’s Research Collaborative Network in Urban Sustainability at Arizona State University, and an Affiliate Faculty at Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University.
