Viviana Elsa Figueroa is an Associate Programme Officer at the Convention on Biological Diversity, in the Traditional Knowledge, Innovations and Practice, Mainstreaming, Partnerships and Outreach Division. Before joining the CBD 2009, Viviana worked at an indigenous organization called “Asociacion de la Juventud Indigena Argentina” in Argentina where she conducted research on traditional knowledge issues. Viviana has been involved also with projects related to traditional knowledge such as capacity building for indigenous peoples from latinoamerica and caribbean region specially women (Indigenous Women Network on Biodiversity for LAC region), with a focus on article 8 (j) and related provision of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
