Vivin Qiang is an intern for The Nature Conservancy China Program in Shenzhen, where she works in the areas of communications and community engagement in urban conservation. With a specific focus on the pilot Sponge City initiative launched in Shenzhen, she advocates for the expansion of urban green infrastructure and the Youth Engagement program through working with local communities and schools on the ground, as well as conducting media outreach to encourage public participation on environmental protection. By sharing best practices and lessons-learned from the Shenzhen City project, she seeks to enhance dialogue for nature-based solutions under the urban context. Vivin received her Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. She has previously served as an Americorps VISTA at a refugee resettlement agency in Nashville, TN and as an intern for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in New York City.
