Yolanda van Heezik (Zoology Department) teaches wildlife management and conservation biology. Her research examines birds and other wildlife in urban areas, penguin ecology, biodiversity of gardens, and most recently, children’s connection with nature. She is currently exploring how ageing affects nature engagement, and is part of a multi-institutional team investigating restoration initiatives in urban areas, and cultural influences on attitudes and motivations to native biodiversity and community restoration initiatives.
